STIELOW FireX Fire extinguishing system
Can save lives - belongs in your vehicle!

STIELOW FireX is a fully automatic fire extinguishing system for preserving the value of cars, lorries, buses, vehicles of all kinds and boats. boats. It fights fires in engine compartments fully automatically and sustainably. It works independently of the vehicle, completely self-sufficient and without a power supply. It is maintenance-free for 15 years, after which only the activation cable needs to be replaced.
In the event of a fire, it takes a maximum of 30 seconds after the fire starts to fully activate the system, which leads to immediate extinguishing. The extinguishing aerosol used is certified for fire classes A, B and C and can therefore extinguish fuels and other operating materials as well as plastics quickly and reliably. Fires involving batteries can also be extinguished. The extinguishing process causes no damage to the vehicle, and the few residues can be removed with a simple engine wash.
STIELOW FireX aerosol generators themselves show no signs of decay.
Application:
STIELOW FireX fire extinguishing systems are innovative and certified. As aerosol extinguishing systems, they are suitable for all types of vehicles under the most diverse operating conditions, whether for the targeted protection of compact petrol engines or entire engine rooms with diesel units. The protection of battery-powered vehicles is also possible. STIELOW FireX is successfully used in switch cabinets and switching stations.
STIELOW FireX offers considerable advantages:
- TÜV-certified
- 100 % retrofittable
- Guaranteed quick and easy installation
- Low construction costs
- Maintenance-free for 15 years
- reasonably priced

Certification
STIELOW FireX fire extinguishing systems are certified by TÜV Nord in accordance with the ECE-R 107 standard.
Compared to conventional extinguishing systems, our systems are smaller, lighter, easier to maintain and more cost-effective. The extremely compact STIELOW FireX extinguishing generators can also be accommodated in very tight engine compartments. An electrical connection is just as superfluous as laying a pipe.
The reliable system consists of a single aerosol generator for automatic fire detection via an activation cable. The system works completely independently.
STIELOW FireX at a glance:
- PFAS free does not contain fluorocarbons
- does not contain fluorocarbons
- No ozone depletion potential (ODP)
- No global warming potential (GWP)
- No atmospheric service life (ALT)
- Resource-saving installation

Extinguishing effects
1. aerosol can extinguish burning liquids and solids as well as the gas flames of damaged batteries very quickly.
2. the long holding time of the aerosol helps to permanently suppress re-ignitions that occur after the extinguishing system has been triggered even over a longer period of time.
3. When extinguishing battery fires, both the K2CO3 contained in the aerosol and the intermediate product KOH react with the decomposition products of the electrolytes, such as hydrogen fluoride (HF), and form stable compounds such as potassium fluoride (KF), which prevents the formation of highly flammable gases such as hydrogen (H2).
Aerosol as extinguishing agent
Aerosol extinguishing systems use a fine mixture of gases with suspended solids to effectively fight fires.
The extinguishing agent is produced by the controlled reaction of a solid inside the aerosol generators. This produces aerosol is then generated from potassium carbonate particles.
These particles are particularly fine at a size of one micrometre, resulting in an extremely large surface area, which increases their effectiveness. The extinguishing effect is based on the binding of oxygen and the cooling effect when the extinguishing agent comes into contact with an open flame. The oxygen content in the ambient air is not reduced.
Another advantage of this technology is that the aerosol used is completely free of PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances), which makes it an environmentally friendly option as an extinguishing agent.
Electrical installation, complex pipework, pressurised containers and tanks are completely eliminated.
The system is powder-coated and resistant to oil, petrol/diesel and paraffin.
